Iter Nimbus
About
Iter Nimbus is my first game, created in Unity for a 1-bit Game Jam, with zero prior experience under my belt.
You play as a defiant storm cloud on Jupiter who’s officially done with the daily grind. Your goal: surf your way up through relentless cloud bands. Colliding with obstacles causes your cloud to bloat, while finding rare pockets of dry air lets you slim down and squeeze through narrow gaps. Sure, freedom might mean sublimation, but that’s a problem for another day.

Introduction
When I decided to truly test my skills in game development, I challenged myself by entering a game jam with just two days left on the clock. The theme, “You Start With Everything And End With Nothing”, sparked the idea for Iter Nimbus, where players embody a cloud escaping Jupiter’s monotony to explore the galaxy. I quickly assembled a small team: one friend contributed expressive 1-bit art, another crafted the soundtrack, and I handled the game’s programming and design. Drawing inspiration from the science of clouds, I designed the core mechanic around size-shifting: collecting gases made the cloud grow larger, while colliding with warm air caused it to shrink. To reinforce the theme, I implemented procedural cloud spawning linked to level progression, dynamic mechanics for expanding and contracting, and a climactic boss encounter with the Planetary Patriarch. I also crafted a final cutscene to bring closure to the journey.
My contributions extended across technical implementation, integrating all assets, scripting level logic, and developing the player’s attack mechanics for boss fights, while ensuring the gameplay felt balanced and responsive through careful tuning of speed, hitboxes, and audio-visual feedback. Iter Nimbus became not only a testament to creative problem-solving under pressure, but also a meaningful step forward in my growth as a developer.
